The <a title=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the_press_office\/Statement-by-the-Press-Secretary-on-Niger-7-1-09\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the_press_office\/Statement-by-the-Press-Secretary-on-Niger-7-1-09\/\" target=\"_blank\">White House released a one paragraph condemnation <\/a>yesterday, and suddenly every news source from <a title=\"http:\/\/www.terra.com.mx\/articulo.aspx?articuloId=842260&amp;ref=1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.terra.com.mx\/articulo.aspx?articuloId=842260&amp;ref=1\" target=\"_blank\">Mexico City<\/a> to <a title=\"http:\/\/www.idahostatesman.com\/nationalpolitics\/story\/820922.html\" href=\"http:\/\/www.idahostatesman.com\/nationalpolitics\/story\/820922.html\" target=\"_blank\">Idaho<\/a> has a blurb about Tandja&#8217;s coup.  Even <a title=\"http:\/\/www.americanthinker.com\/blog\/2009\/07\/obama_condems_zalayalike_behav.html\" href=\"http:\/\/www.americanthinker.com\/blog\/2009\/07\/obama_condems_zalayalike_behav.html\" target=\"_blank\">right-wing US bloggers<\/a> were busy digging out maps.  It&#8217;s the one north of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Never mind that the unattributed White House statement is <a title=\"http:\/\/www.state.gov\/r\/pa\/prs\/ps\/2009\/05\/124091.htm\" href=\"http:\/\/www.state.gov\/r\/pa\/prs\/ps\/2009\/05\/124091.htm\" target=\"_blank\">just a rewrite of the State Department text<\/a> from a May: the attention one heading on the White House website seems to = worldwide press coverage. We&#8217;re supposed to be concerned about print journalism going downhill why?<\/p>\n<p>Also a note to journalists: if you lift text verbatim from Wikipedia, <a title=\"http:\/\/wikimediafoundation.org\/wiki\/Terms_of_Use\" href=\"http:\/\/wikimediafoundation.org\/wiki\/Terms_of_Use\" target=\"_blank\">you&#8217;re supposed to attribute it<\/a>.
